PIPELINES
DIM Group started as a detachment from the mother enterprise DIM Gas. It has more than 40 years of activity in planning and design, construction and maintenance of distribution and transport networks of natural gas.
The company to date has laid over 180 km in low, medium and high pressure and more than 6,000 connections, constructing the whole city network of gas in the municipalities of Curtarolo, Campo San Martino and in the localities of Tavo and Terraglione in the municipality of Vigodarzere in the province of Padova.
During these years of experience in management and construction of technological networks of underground services, DIM Group has become particularly sensitive to the use of technologies that consent qualitatively high achievements while reducing damage to the environment to the minimum. Back in the eighties, when DIM Gas was already among the top firms in Italy, it used specific technologies for the laying of pipes without excavating, better known as No-dig or Trenchless, with the first pneumatic tunnel borers.
In parallel, organization of mobile roadworks for the laying of in-line piping was further improved so as to avoid in virtually all cases the closure of a whole road, limiting the work to a single lane at a time. This meant a significant lowering of costs, those called "social costs", meaning damages incurred mainly by small commercial activities due to closure of traffic even for short periods.
At the beginning of the nineties, the firm acquired the first existing Zero Swing excavators with hydraulic 'deport' arm on the market; this vehicle turns only on itself in the rotation phase of the turret or 'house' while permitting to dig beyond the axis of the machine.
As the years passed, our expertise has grown and today DIM Group is in a position to be competitive on the market while still maintaining fundamentally a family-run structure that is capable of operating with innovative solutions, some of which are exclusively patented, in the following activities:
- Installation and maintenance of underground services, without digging, with controlled horizontal drilling ("trenchless", "No-Dig").
- Works of civil and industrial urbanization (sewage systems and waterworks, services for electric mains networks and telephone networks, public lighting fixtures etc.).
- Domestic connections to mains water networks, sewage systems, gas distribution etc.
- Locating and mapping of underground service networks with Georadar
- Re-cycling and stabilization of excavated earth
